South American Spanish - Terms & Conditions

  1. Enrolment

The contract is realised by sending the online enrolment form and/or making payment. As soon as availability is verified the student will receive a written confirmation of the course enrolment along with an invoice from the school. The reservation only then becomes obligatory for the language school if this is approved in a written form. The student is bound to the registration until the confirmation of the language school, at the most 16 days after the entry date of the enrolment. If the student needs a visa it is recommended that you apply at least 6 weeks before the course starts.

  2. Content of Contract and Payment Information

Upon acknowledgement of course confirmation the student enters a contract directly with the language school. The balance of the payment will be made directly to the school. Course prices are in USD and currency conversions on the website are based on the daily exchange rate and will fluctuate with the daily variations in the exchange rate.

  3. Change of Reservation

No fees will be charged for changes communicated to us in writing within two business days of the booking confirmation. No fees will be charged for extensions or upgrades of bookings at the same school. In all other cases, if the student would like to make date modifications to a confirmed booking, a change fee of 50 USD will be charged. For changes communicated less than 30 days before the start of the booked services, schools reserve the right to pass on to the student additional costs resulting from the change. Changes of schools, reduction of course durations and downgrade of services are considered as cancellations and the cancellation terms apply.

  4. Cancellation

Cancellation of Contract by the Student The student may cancel the enrolment at any time prior to the start of the course. The cancellation needs to be communicated in writing by the person that booked the course. A cancellation will cause cancellation charges as specified below:

45+ days before course start: 80% refund

31-45 days before course start: 65% refund

16-30 days before course start: 50% refund

1-15 days before course start: 25% refund

Enrolment fees and other administrative fees are not refundable. After the start of course, the school will pay no refunds. Requests for refunds of contracted insurance services are regulated by the conditions of the insurance and need to be communicated by the client directly to the insurance.

It is recommended to contract an insurance company upon enrolment to cover the cancellation costs if you cannot attend the course for medical reasons. To avoid or minimize cancellation fees, you may present another person to participate in the course in your place or you may request ahead of time to postpone the course to another date. Frequently schools will then charge no fees or only a small administrative fee.

Cancellation of Contract by the School
In case of printing, writing or calculation errors, the schools reserve the right to cancel the contract.

    Cancellation due to Visa Refusal
If a client is forced to cancel the course due to visa denial after a timely visa application, all payments and deposits made to us will be returned. Schools may charge a maximum of 180 USD for banking and administration fees. The client will need to present a document demonstrating the visa rejection at least 3 weeks before the start of the course or accommodation booking.

  5. Privacy

The booking and payment data, which is provided by students, will be treated with absolute confidentiality. You can read more about our privacy policy here.

  6. Notice of Defects

If the student receives a lack of proper care during his language course, he is obliged to inform the school management immediately and to request remedy. By disregarding this obligation, the duty of remedy is forfeited. It is recommended to get a confirmation of complaints in writing.

  7. Passport, Visa, Customs, Currency and Health Instructions

It is the student's responsibility to fulfill the requirements, which are necessary for the execution of the journey to the course, such as passports, visas, customs rules, health instructions, and insurances. To deliver the required visa documents the schools may charge an additional courier delivery fee for courses booked on short notice before the start of the course. Additionally, the student should inform the school in time about infections and vaccinations as well as other prophylaxis measures and get medical advice if necessary. General information for travelling is provided by local health authorities and medical services.

  8. Minimum Group Size

In case the minimum group size for a course is not reached, the school reserves the right to give a reduced number of individual/mini-group classes instead of the booked group class.

  9. General School Regulations

    a) Agreements on changes and additions to the described services and booking have to be given in writing (e.g. email).

    b) If nothing different is noted, it implies that sightseeing, trips, course materials etc. are not included in the price and have to be paid upon arrival or as required.

    c) Unless specifically noted, classes do not take place on local and national holidays or on Saturdays and Sundays. Missed classes are neither made up nor refunded.

    d) If the course has to be modified or even cancelled because of uncontrollable events, failure of public transport, official arrangements, changes in the timetable, strikes, unrests or other mandatory reasons, this does not justify claims for restitution.

  10. Prices

If not otherwise indicated, prices are in USD. These are the original school prices without any add-ons and are generally the lowest prices offered by the school. Price conversions to other currencies on the website, documents or communications are for information only.
